Saudi Arabia Conveyor Belt Hot Vulcanizing Joint & On-Site Maintenance
Project Overview
BEDROCK recently completed an on-site conveyor belt maintenance and hot vulcanizing joint service in Saudi Arabia, supporting a customer with the repair and restoration of an industrial conveyor belt system.
Continuous operation, heavy material handling, dust, belt tension and repeated loading can gradually affect conveyor belt joints and overall belt condition. Once a joint becomes damaged or unstable, continued operation may increase the risk of belt separation, material spillage and unexpected conveyor shutdowns.
To restore reliable operation, the BEDROCK technical team carried out an on-site inspection and performed a hot vulcanized conveyor belt splice directly at the customer's facility.
Project Information
Location: Saudi Arabia
Service Type: Conveyor Belt Maintenance
Joint Method: Hot Vulcanizing
Application: Industrial Material Handling
Work Scope: Belt Inspection, Joint Preparation, Hot Vulcanizing & Final Inspection
Service Team: BEDROCK On-Site Technical Team
Customer Requirement
The customer required maintenance work to be completed directly on the existing conveyor system while minimizing the impact on normal production.
Rather than simply replacing the complete conveyor belt, the condition of the belt and splice area was evaluated first. Based on the actual condition, the team prepared the belt for a new hot vulcanized joint.
The key requirements of the project were:
- Restore the integrity of the conveyor belt joint
- Maintain accurate belt alignment during splicing
- Create a strong and stable splice
- Reduce the risk of premature joint failure
- Return the conveyor to operation after inspection
On-Site Hot Vulcanizing Process
The BEDROCK team prepared the working area and carried out the splice according to the belt structure and actual site conditions.
The process included belt positioning, splice-area preparation, layer treatment, alignment, application of bonding materials, vulcanizing and final joint inspection.
Careful alignment was particularly important. An incorrectly positioned splice can contribute to belt tracking problems and uneven stress after the conveyor returns to operation.
Hot vulcanizing creates an integrated splice structure by bonding the prepared belt sections under controlled pressure and temperature. It is commonly used for industrial conveyor belts operating under demanding and continuous working conditions.
Working Under Real Saudi Site Conditions
The maintenance work was performed directly at the customer's operating site in Saudi Arabia.
As shown in the project photos, the working environment included significant dust exposure and an existing conveyor structure, requiring the technical team to complete the splice around the actual equipment rather than under factory conditions.
This type of field service requires not only suitable vulcanizing equipment and materials, but also practical experience in belt preparation, positioning and joint inspection.
For BEDROCK, local conveyor belt support is not limited to supplying replacement belts. On-site maintenance and splicing services allow customers to address belt problems directly at their facilities.
Project Result
After completion of the hot vulcanizing process, the joint area was inspected before the conveyor was returned to service.
The maintenance work restored the continuity of the conveyor belt and provided a stable splice for subsequent operation, while avoiding unnecessary replacement of the complete belt where the remaining belt condition was still suitable for continued use.
The project also demonstrates BEDROCK's ability to provide local conveyor belt maintenance and technical support in Saudi Arabia, from belt inspection and repair to hot vulcanizing and joint servicing.
